Hi! I'm Jillian
I am an educator, parent advocate and aspiring podcaster with a mission to create more conversation around the power and importance of inclusive for all!
So what's the story...
Moved to Include was born out of a desire to change the way we talk about, think about, and approach inclusion. In my recent role as a Movement Resource Teacher, I was inspired to pursue a deeper understanding of what moves us to include especially in the context of physical activity and disability. Each day I became even more moved by the interactions and conversations I had with families, students, and fellow educators that I wanted to bring these voices to life. I also felt a need to connect with others who were finding innovative and effective ways to make our world more inclusive despite the many barriers and challenges that they were facing. I created this platform with the intention to get to the heart of inclusivity and a way for others to have access to listening to stories and build connections with individuals that might help them along their own journeys. It is also focused on learning and building confidence for individuals to be more inclusive in their daily life and empowering them to want to lead in making positive and monumental change when it comes to inclusion for those with disabilities and diverse needs. My new and ongoing journey in being a parent myself of a child with Down Syndrome has continued to cement this motivation and passion to learn more and just be a better human being not only for my son and daughter, but for others in my community. I hope you will be moved just as I am by the stories I share and the people I continue to get to meet on this journey.
Thank you for being right here beside me, listening, learning and leading the way to a more inclusive world!
